One of the new names on the horizon as a potential summer signing for Real Madrid is Nico Schlotterbeck, and his name has slowly grown and earned consensus in recent weeks.

Currently playing for Borussia Dortmund, his departure from the German club in the summer is almost a given as he is looking for a change in scenery.

Several offers have come his way, but reports earlier this week clarified that he prefers a move to Real Madrid over any other opportunity that may come his way.

A sign from the player

Now, the centre-back recently liked a post on Instagram linking him to Real Madrid and openly showcasing him as a Galactico.

The photo was a fan edit of the player standing dressed in the Real Madrid home kit with the Santiago Bernabeu in the background.

For him to like the post, needless to say, is a confirmation that he too wishes for the same.

His current contract with Dortmund runs until the summer of 2027 and the Germans are pushing to sign a renewal with him. The player, however, prefers a move away from the club as it stands.

It is expected that his price tag will range from between €40 million to €50 million, and Real Madrid do not see that to be a major obstacle for their finances.

After all, he will fill the void they are currently battling in the department.

Still just 26 years of age, Schlotterbeck can offer over half a decade at the highest level and will thus be a signing for the medium-term.

All that remains, thus, is for Los Blancos to make an official approach.
