AS reports that Real Madrid are considering seeking compensation worth several million euros in the Negreira case, citing sporting and institutional damage from Barcelona’s payments to companies linked to former referees’ committee vice-president José María Enríquez Negreira.
The club is reported to have recently stepped up its legal action, issuing a 10-day deadline for audits, due diligence and more than 600 accounting documents, the report added.
The stated aim is to trace Barcelona’s financial flows between 2010 and 2021, along with earlier budgets that record payments to several companies connected to the affair.
Inside the club, a financial claim for damages is said to be gathering momentum, framed as compensation for losses and harm.
Madrid have already secured an extension of the investigation until the first of March, and president Florentino Perez has reiterated his intention to pursue the matter fully.
