The coming weeks are critical for Real Madrid’s season across competitions as they face Atletico Madrid and Manchester City amongst other opposition all in a span of just over 14 days.

Unfortunately for the team, however, they lost their momentum at the weekend’s clash against Espanyol and even a crucial player in Antonio Rudiger.

The German defender was taken off in the first half in Catalonia and is expected to miss at least the next two weeks as it stands. His absence, needless to say, is a big blow.

Updates from the Valdebebas

The Merengues are currently preparing for the next game on their schedule, a critical match against Leganes in the Copa del Rey.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men trained as usual at the club facilities ahead of the upcoming game and there were some interesting developments to note.

For starters, Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, and Thibaut Courtois all trained away from the group separately inside and did not participate in training on the field.

Considering the regular minutes the trio have been faced with, it is likely that they were exempted from group training so as to recover their best version.

Eduardo Camavinga, who is inching closer to a recovery, worked individually on the lawn and is expected to join with the group soon.

The final update is regarding the latest injury blow – Antonio Rudiger – and the defender also continued his recovery process at the club facilities. Carlo Ancelotti will look to have him available at the earliest.

Los Blancos’ clash against Leganes is scheduled to kick off on Wednesday night and will be held away from home. While their opponents are not doing well in La Liga, it is a direct knockout fixture leaves no room for error for Real Madrid.
