Real Madrid TV renews its offensive against Barcelona president – ‘They take you for a fool’ | OneFootball

In the build-up to Real Madrid’s home game against Sevilla, Real Madrid TV used its pre-match coverage to revisit the ongoing Negreira case and directly respond to comments made by Joan Laporta. 

The Barcelona president had recently accused the club’s television channel of spreading falsehoods, stating that “Madrid’s television station only spews lies and constantly and continuously spreads misinformation.”

Real Madrid TV wasted no time addressing that accusation. The channel rejected Laporta’s claim and turned his words back on him, stating, 

“If telling the truth is spewing, we will continue to spew,” before examining his recent testimony before a judge in detail.

The broadcaster then laid out what it described as a series of inconsistencies in Laporta’s statements, framing them as serious and damaging. 

According to RMTV, the Barcelona president contradicted himself on several key points during his appearance. Explaining their position, they said, 

“Laporta has been caught in three contradictions or lies, which is false testimony, which is a crime. 

“The first contradiction is saying that he does not know Negreira, when the images are there. 

“The second is saying that the sports department was the recipient of those reports, and Luis Enrique and Valverde are saying they never saw them. 

“And a third: that appearance with the boxes where the reports were supposedly kept, and then he says that the reports were destroyed every five years. So who is vomiting?”

Real Madrid TV continued in the same hard-line tone, suggesting that the issue goes beyond rivalry and into the realm of justice and accountability. 

They accused Laporta of misleading both the public and the legal system, warning of the potential consequences of such actions. The channel added, 

“The worst thing is that they take you for a fool, they try to make you believe a series of lies that are outrageous. 

“Laporta is not telling the truth before a judge. A witness enters as a witness but may end up being charged with perjury. 

“You can laugh at your partners, you can laugh at Spain, but you can’t laugh at a judge…”

The commentary then broadened its scope, framing the Negreira case as an issue that should concern Spanish football as a whole, not just Real Madrid. 

“We’re talking about a very serious issue. There has been tremendous fraud and all the teams should be angry.

“Unfortunately, justice moves more slowly than we citizens would like, but I’m sure that moral redress will be made, and it will be proven that Barça cheated. 

“And let’s remember that there was a change in the sports law so that this would be time-barred. Because this is a reason for Barça to be relegated,” added the channel.
