Marcelo’s direct connection with Real Madrid was severed years ago when he made the decision to leave the club and join Olympiacos in 2022.

The legendary left-back’s legacy at the club, however, is being carried on by both his sons who are not only a part of Real Madrid’s academy but two of the most highly rated prospects.

His elder son Enzo Alves, in particular, has been rapidly rising up the ranks and made his debut for the Juvenil A side at just 15 years of age earlier this week.

A star in attack

As relayed by AS, Real Madrid have high expectations of Enzo, following his Juvenil A debut which turned out to be his coming-of-the-age performance.

Indeed, his performance has got the club offices, administration and management excited and the offices at Valdebebas are clear – ‘Enzo is going to give us a lot of joy,’ they say.

Despite being just 15, the Juventil A manager Alvaro Arbeloa trusted Alves enough to give him a debut in a crucial derby game against Atletico Madrid’s youth team.

He came on in the 77th minute on the night and it took him just eight minutes to make a difference through an assist, once again re-affirming why he is worthy of the hype around his name.

The teenage sensation could not have chosen a better game to explode in, for his father Marcelo, brother Liam, Carlo Ancelotti, Davide Ancelotti and Santiago Solari were all in attendance to witness the game first-hand.

A striker by trade, Alves has shown to have a special eye for goal and a deep understanding of the game and his rapid propulsion up the ranks comes as no surprise.

He will likely continue to be a key part of the Juvenil A team’s plans this season. Given his ascendency, a debut for the Castilla side or the first team in some capacity cannot completely be ruled out either.
