Lucas Vazquez has had to serve as Real Madrid’s starting right-back option all season, and while it has not been easy by any measure, one cannot doubt his loyalty and commitment every time he has taken to the field.
After all, Vazquez was initially not a defender but a right winger who moved into a defensive role only to help the club out as a backup option in the department.
The club captain is set to leave the club this summer, especially with Dani Carvajal returning from injury and Trent Alexander-Arnold likely arriving as a reinforcement. His next step, however, has remained unknown so far.
As relayed by OK Diario in a recent update, Qatar and Saudi Arabia have set their eyes on Vazquez and hope to lure him to the Middle East this summer.

No official offer has materialised yet, but several clubs in the two leagues have their eyes set on him as a serious option. The coming weeks will be crucial in deciding his future.
The player will thus follow the same path the likes of Karim Benzema, Nacho and Joselu followed in recent years as they joined Al Ittihad, Al Qadsiah and Al Gharafa respectively.
Despite his contract running out in June, Vazquez will play the FIFA Club World Cup with Real Madrid and will sign an extension with the club to be available until the end of the event. That will be his final competition as a Real Madrid player.
Regardless of how unpredictable his performances have been this season, Vazquez will go down as a Real Madrid legend for his development over the years, the titles he has won and how he was always ready to give his 100% without making a fuss of having just a fringe role.
