“If all parties agree, I want to renew and extend my career at Real Madrid. It’s always been my dream, and it’s still what I want,” said the defender as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

Carvajal, who has been a key player for Carlo Ancelotti, played a major role in Real Madrid’s successful season last year. He emphasised his loyalty to the club, stating,

“I wouldn’t want to play for any other European team after my time here at Real Madrid. It’s a matter of respect.”

Having started his 12th season with the first team, Carvajal is a true veteran of Real Madrid, having played 421 official matches, scored 13 goals, and provided 64 assists.

He also shared his views on the attacking trio of Vinicius Jr., Kylian Mbappe, and Rodrygo, commenting,

“Both Vini and Kylian and Rodry are players who like to fall to the left wing and not stick so close to the right, it is a matter of time before they end up understanding each other, the important thing is to find a balance and that will come soon,” noted the veteran.

Despite being four points behind Barcelona in La Liga, Carvajal remains calm and confident.

“We have four games in, this is a long-distance race and now the schedule is getting tighter, the matches are demanding and they will surely drop a point,”  he said, showing his belief in Real Madrid’s ability to close the gap.

Lastly, on his Ballon d’Or nomination, Carvajal expressed his pride, saying, “It is a great success just to be nominated for this award because I have had a great year. Above all, I want to enjoy the gala and hopefully be able to hear my name called.”
