Real Madrid: Vinicius Jr publicly apologizes!
The storm that has rocked Real Madrid since the Clasico finally seems to be settling down. At the center of criticism since his heated altercation with coach Xabi Alonso, Vinicius Junior has chosen to break his silence, offering an explanation and seeking to calm tensions. The Brazilian, singled out by the Spanish press for what was deemed disrespectful behavior, decided to publicly apologize in a powerful statement addressed to Real Madrid supporters.
The incident made headlines everywhere: furious at being substituted during the Clasico, Vinicius unleashed his anger on the sidelines, right in front of a visibly annoyed Xabi Alonso. The image shocked observers and reignited debates about the player’s behavior. Some Spanish media outlets, such as El Chiringuito, even spoke of possible disciplinary action or a deep rift between the two men.
But the young forward wanted to set the record straight:
“Sometimes, my passion and desire to help the team take over. My competitive spirit comes from the love I have for this club and everything it stands for,” he wrote on his social networks.
He went on to add: “I apologize to the fans, my teammates, the club, and the president.”
According to daily newspaper AS, Vinicius and Alonso spoke the very next day in an atmosphere described as “cordial and respectful”. The Spaniard, known for his measured approach to man-management, reportedly accepted his player’s apology, preferring to keep the dressing room unified rather than stoke a public controversy.
It remains to be seen whether this episode will leave a mark on the relationship between the manager and his star winger. The answer could come as soon as the next match against Valencia, on November 1. Will he start his number 7 from the outset, or will he make a statement by leaving him out? One thing is certain: by apologizing, Vinicius has sent a clear message. The Brazilian wants to turn the page and focus on what matters most—leading Real Madrid back to the top.
