The future of Dani Ceballos has emerged as a hot topic at Real Madrid in the final few days of the summer transfer window.

The midfielder recently received an offer from his former club Real Betis, who were ready to attain 50% of the player’s transfer rights for a fee of €5 million.

Real Madrid, though, were quick to reject the advances and reportedly closed the door on the midfielder’s exit.

Ceballos remains open to Real Madrid exit

Despite that, Dani Ceballos is still ‘insisting’ on the idea of leaving Real Madrid late in the transfer window, reports Diario AS.

It appears the former Arsenal star remains open to the idea of putting an end to his career at Real Madrid. The Spaniard, after all, has been nothing short of a second-fiddle player at the club in recent seasons.

Ceballos’ fortunes are not going to change in the new season. Although Carlo Ancelotti has assured him of his role in the team, the Italian is unwilling to hand him a guaranteed role and for understandable reasons.

Ceballos’ objective: Rejoin Betis

The report adds that Ceballos’ main objective this summer is to rejoin Real Betis. He has doubts about his prospects at Real Madrid and therefore, believes Real Betis to be a much better option.

Ceballos and his entourage are pushing for a return to Betis, especially after knowing the Verdiblancos are also working on the return of Giovani Lo Celso.

However, at the same time, Ceballos is aware of Real Betis’ poor economic position and the fact that they might not be able to match Real Madrid’s demands.

The Spanish giants, for their part, are more than happy to retain the services of Ceballos, with coach Ancelotti determined not to lose any more midfielders.
