There is indeed a Rodrygo Goes case unfolding at Real Madrid. While it may appear to be a reaction to two matches under Xabi Alonso – most recently his zero involvement against Pachuca – the situation has been developing for much longer.

Rodrygo ended last season under a cloud of uncertainty. Premier League clubs such as Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Tottenham were all monitoring him.

Premier League the likely destinaton for Rodrygo

Now, according to Cadena SER, the Premier League now appears to be the most likely destination for Rodrygo, where he is viewed as a star, especially given current market values.

However, the operation would be complex as Real Madrid will demand a fee of €90 million for their prized forward. The idea would be to use those funds to sign a midfielder that manager Alonso has been demanding.

As has already been reported, Arsenal have shown a concrete interest in signing the 24-year-old Brazilian forward. Even though Rodrygo is currently in a difficult place both mentally and on the pitch, the Gunners are seriously considering signing him.

If Madrid put Rodrygo up for sale, Arsenal are expected to make a move, believing he would be a strong addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Real Madrid are aware of Arsenal’s interest, but the player is also exploring other options. He knows that Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have long shown interest.

But Rodrygo will not come cheap. Real Madrid will not waiver from their demand of around €90 million – a sum that would allow the club to enter the market and pursue the central midfielder the manager has requested from the outset.
