Real Madrid are on the lookout for reinforcements in the midfield department heading into the summer transfer window.
It is one of the positions that Los Blancos intend to strength in the summer, along with the centre-back and right-back areas.
Manchester City heavyweight Rodri has been touted as a target for a long time now, and the Spaniard is understood to be open to a move.
At the same time, Chelsea vice-captain Enzo Fernandez is also on the club’s radars and had openly hinted at his willingness to make the switch during the international break in March.
Now, according to The Independent, Real Madrid will make a move for Enzo Fernandez in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Argentine international is expected to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, with the upcoming Premier League game against Sunderland likely to be his last one for the Blues.
Fernandez had some issues at the club in recent months due to his flirtations with a potential move to Real Madrid, which even earned him a two-match sanction, while there was a tense relationship with former manager Liam Rosenior ever since.
Things seemed to have smoothed over once Calum McFarlane replaced Rosenior as interim manager, but it appears that there is still some tension lingering.

As such, Chelsea and Fernandez are likely to part ways in the summer, with Real Madrid ready to make a move. It is unlikely that the Blues will be able to recoup the £100 million+ fees that they shelled out on his signing from Benfica in 2023.
The report states that apart from Real Madrid, Manchester City are also interested in signing Fernandez in the summer.
Indeed, if Los Blancos end up signing Rodri, the Premier League heavyweights intend to raid Chelsea for the Argentine star.
After all, Enzo Maresca, who is set to replace Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium, worked with Fernandez at Chelsea and the pair share a strong relationship.
