Real Madrid will target three players to become promised €150m signing

Real Madrid President Florentino Perez dropped his election bomb on Thursday night during his latest interview, explaining that if he is re-elected on Sunday, then he will pursue the most expensive signing in club history. Despite significant speculation over who it could be, it seems that Perez is yet to define the exact player it will be.

The 79-year-old denied that it would be Manchester City’s Jeremy Doku or Erling Haaland, or Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise or Harry Kane. The two names that have emerged most frequently since have been Paris Saint-Germain and Portugal duo Joao Neves and Vitinha, who have been key in the French side’s domination in Europe.

Well-connected Real Madrid reporter Jose Felix Diaz has confirmed to Diario AS that Vitinha and Neves are both in the running to be the signature signing of Perez’s election campaign. The other name, despite his denial, is Olise, who would provide a right-sided option to Real Madrid’s attack for the first time since Gareth Bale left. It is no surprise that Perez is not tying himself to a singular name, given that increases the risk of being unable to deliver on the promise of brigning in their record signing.

It is added that Olise’s performances against Real Madrid in the Champions League this season made an impact at the Santiago Bernabeu. For his part, Vitinha has long been considered a ‘dream signing’ by Los Blancos to resolve their ongoing issues in midfield.

What has Enrique Riquelme promised?

For his part, election rival Enrique Riquelme has promised that if he becomes president, then Haaland and Rodri Hernandez will both be signed from Manchester City. Any agreement with Haaland has been denied by his agent, but Riquelme commented that this was merely ‘part of the game’. He is yet to name the manager he is keen to bring in, but distanced himself from Jose Mourinho, who will be the next manager if Perez is in charge.
