Kylian Mbappé faced the press this Monday. The Real Madrid striker addressed the departure of Xabi Alonso, who was sacked a week ago.

After losing the Spanish Super Cup final to FC Barcelona, Real Madrid decided to dismiss Xabi Alonso and replace him with Alvaro Arbeloa. One week later, Kylian Mbappé was asked about the former Bayer Leverkusen manager.

"No. But some of the things being said just aren't true. Sometimes, it's 10% true and 90% false. But our job is to accept it, even though sometimes I say so and it's not ideal. When I have the chance to speak, I do," the Frenchman admitted.

He also conceded that Xabi Alonso may not have been treated in the best way: "It's possible, it's possible. That's why I say I understand everything. There are journalists who do a good job. Sometimes it's true, sometimes it's false. That's why I understand the public. When I was a kid, everything said on TV was true for me. I understand that people form opinions based on what they hear. Our job is to make sure people come back to us. And to rebuild the Real Madrid family."
