Real Madrid travel to Abanca-Balaidos this Friday evening to face Celta Vigo in an important La Liga fixture.
Los Blancos are enduring a difficult period, having lost their last two league matches to Osasuna (2-1) and Getafe (1-0).
Arbeloa, who took over from Xabi Alonso in mid-January, has struggled to steady the ship. The former Real Madrid right-back has stated: “The only way to win with this badge is with effort, sacrifice and consistency”
Madrid hold second spot with 60 points after 26 fixtures. But with Barcelona four points ahead, another setback would seriously damage their title challenge.
Alvaro Arbeloa’s squad is struggling with a mounting injury crisis. French striker Kylian Mbappe continues to be unavailable due to a knee problem and won’t return until the Manchester City second leg on March 17.
In worse news, Rodrygo has torn his ACL and will miss the remainder of the campaign, potentially staying out until September.
Three players face bans: Alvaro Carreras, Dean Huijsen, and Franco Mastantuono will all sit this one out.
The treatment room also includes Jude Bellingham, David Alaba, Eder Militao, and Dani Ceballos. None of these players will be available for the upcoming Champions League knockout round.
Possible Real Madrid starting XI: Courtois; Alexander-Arnold, Mendy, Rudiger, F Garcia; Valverde, Tchouameni, Camavinga; Guler; G Garcia, Vinicius.
The match will kick off at 8pm BST on Friday, 6th March.
UK viewers can catch the game on Premier Sports 1.
