Dani Ceballos finds himself in the spotlight in the final week of the summer transfer window at Real Madrid.
The 29-year-old Spanish midfielder has been reduced to a bit-part role at the club and has been dropping hints about a departure all summer long.
The latest one came on Sunday night when he posted a cryptic comment on social media after Real Madrid’s victory over Real Oviedo.
Earlier today, reports emerged claiming that Olympique de Marseille in France wanted Ceballos and talks were underway over a potential loan move with a buy clause.
However, according to journalist Arancha Rodriguez on COPE, Real Madrid have not yet received any formal offer for Ceballos.
The 29-year-old midfielder remains under contract at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2027, and the club have no intention of letting him leave without compensation.

Any departure would require a buying club to present a suitable financial offer before negotiations could proceed.
A move back to Ceballos’ former club, Real Betis, has been talked about all summer, but the La Liga club’s financial situation makes it difficult.
As such, Marseille could prove to be a viable alternative for Ceballos, although it appears that Real Madrid will only consider letting him leave for a sizeable sum – possibly ruling out the idea of a loan exit.
Marseille have placed Adrien Rabiot on the market after his recent fight with a teammate and will need to replace him – explaining the interest in Ceballos.
With talks understood to be ongoing between all parties involved, it remains to be seen whether an agreement is reached before the transfer window closes in a few days.
