A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid can now be considered a full-time senior player.

That’s according to Marca, who point towards Gonzalo García as the player in question.

Youngster Gonzalo is for his part of course fresh off something of a breakout summer in the colours of Real Madrid.

Afforded a surprisingly prominent place in Los Blancos’ XI at the Club World Cup owing to an illness being suffered by Kylian Mbappé, the 21-year-old went on to take full advantage of his chance.

All told, Gonzalo featured from the off in all six of his side’s fixtures in the USA, chipping in with five direct goal contributions along the way.

And as alluded to above, the significance of these exploits evidently didn’t go unappreciated on the part of Xabi Alonso and his staff.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of Marca that:

‘Gonzalo García is now a permanent first-team player, and he’s about to sign a new contract, which perfectly defines the role he can play at Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid.’
