Members of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid have this week secured for themselves a piece of World Cup history.

This comes owing to their respective exploits in the final third at this summer’s North American showcase.

A member of Los Blancos’ attacking ranks is of course fresh off stealing the headlines for the latest occasion on Thursday. En route to France booking a place in the World Cup’s final-4 at the expense of Morocco, Kylian Mbappé found the net once again.

This took the Frenchman’s tally to eight goals across the summer to date.

But Mbappé is far from the only member of José Mourinho’s squad to have found the net on the international stage over the last few weeks…

Vinícius Jr. was on target to the tune of four goals for Brazil, whilst Jude Bellingham has managed the same in the colours of England.

Arda Güler also chipped in with a goal during Türkiye’s group stage campaign, giving rise to a head-turning stat revealed by statisticians Opta:

Players from Real Madrid have scored 17 goals in the 2026 World Cup, a record for a Spanish club in a single edition of the tournament:

  1. 17 – Real Madrid in 2026 World Cup
  1. 16 – FC Barcelona in 1994 World Cup
