Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio was cleared on Thursday in the Las Palmas case concerning sexual videos involving a minor, hours after the club opened disciplinary proceedings over off-field matters.
The Superior Court of Justice of Las Palmas said in a statement that no offence had been committed by the 23-year-old. The verdict followed the withdrawal of complaints by two plaintiffs, to whom the Spaniard had apologised.
Asencio had faced proceedings only for sharing the videos with a third party.
Three former Real Madrid academy team-mates, Ferran Ruiz, Juan Rodriguez and Andrés Garcia, were indicted in 2025. They were acquitted of distributing intimate relations without consent, but received one-year suspended prison sentences for child pornography and must attend a sexual re-education course. Asencio was not present when the acts took place.
In a separate case heard on Wednesday, the centre-back was convicted of drink-driving, fined 14,400 euros and given an eight-month driving ban.
