Real Salt Lake have signed defender Luc de Fougerolles on loan from English Premier League side Fulham FC, the club announced Saturday.

The 20-year-old Canadian international center back's loan is through the 2026 MLS season, with an option to extend through the 2027 MLS Sprint Season.

At this summer's 2026 FIFA World Cup, de Fougerolles played in all five of Canada's games as they made history by reaching the Round of 16.

"The arrival of Luc to our club for the final third of the 2026 season will certainly be additive to our back-line options," said RSL chief soccer officer Kurt Schmid.

"His recent World Cup experience, combined with his high level in the Fulham setup the last several years, should afford him the opportunity to make an immediate impact as we pursue postseason success."

Last season, de Fougerolles played 30 times while on loan at Belgian side FCV Dender EH. He's also featured twice for Fulham's senior team.

The youngster has already earned 18 caps for Canada, often starting under head coach Jesse Marsch.
