Real Sociedad and Celta draw tough Europa League league phase | OneFootball

Real Sociedad and Celta were handed testing Europa League 2026-27 league phase draws, with Juventus, Crystal Palace, Lyon and Marseille among their opponents.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the league phase runs from 16-17 September to 28 January, with the top eight avoiding the knockout play-off. The final is on 26 May in Frankfurt, Germany.

Copa del Rey Mapfre winners Real Sociedad, seeded in pot 1, will visit Juventus and Crystal Palace, host Lyon at Anoeta and Bournemouth, and also face Torreense, Lillestrom, Union Saint-Gilloise and Viktoria Plzen. Crystal Palace were last season’s Conference League winners, and Union Saint-Gilloise played in the Champions League last term.

Celta, drawn from pot 3, will also meet Juventus, who return to Balaídos where they lost 4-0 and went out in the 1999-2000 UEFA Cup last 16. Claudio Giráldez’s team also travel to Marseille and Celtic FC.

At home Celta host Union Saint-Gilloise, Bournemouth and Lillestrom, while they visit Omonia and Hapoel Beer-Sheva.
