Real Sociedad and Celta face ultra risk and Juventus test in Europa League | OneFootball

Real Sociedad and Celta will share four of their eight Europa League league-phase opponents. According to AS, Juventus are the standout footballing threat, yet security concerns dominate given Lyon visit San Sebastián and Celta travel to Marseille.

Lyon's visit is La Real's biggest security worry. The French club's ultras are among the most dangerous in the country and have previously caused incidents in San Sebastián, as did travelling fans from Benfica, PSG and Ajax.

Bournemouth, Viktoria Plzen and Torreense also come to Anoeta. Torreense are the competition's surprise, a second-tier side who still won the cup last season. Real must also go to Turin to face Juventus, then to Belgium for St. Gilloise, to London for Crystal Palace and to Norway for Lillestrom.

For Celta, the most testing assignment looks to be at Marseille. The Velodrome is a pressure cooker and the atmosphere from the stands can be especially tense.

Juventus at Balaídos will also revive memories of a famous night, when Celta overturned a tie with a 4-0 win in the 99/00 UEFA Cup.

Balaídos will also host St. Gilloise, Lillestrom and Bournemouth. Away days include Marseille, Celtic in Glasgow, Omonia of Cyprus and Hapoel Beer Sheva of Israel, who are not staging home games in Israel. Their last Champions round was played in Romania.

This season's Europa League final is in Frankfurt on 26 May. If all goes well, both Real and Celta will hope to be there.
