Real Sociedad returned to training at Zubieta on Thursday after a rest day, beginning preparations for Sunday’s 21.00 kick-off against Atlético Madrid at Anoeta with no new setbacks.
Diario Vasco reports that head coach Matarazzo had no fresh concerns and worked with all the players who were available against Elche.
Marín trained fully after rejoining the group last week. He was the only significant pre-season injury and has yet to feature this term. Álvaro Odriozola trained separately as he continues his recovery from last season’s cruciate rupture.
Beitia, Marchal and Fraga were the only B team players involved. Matarazzo called up the centre-back from Elgoibar because Jon Martín is suspended after his red card at the Martínez Valero. The Navarrese winger remains with the senior group and looks set to be in the squad again.
Monday’s match left no notable physical issues, and the squad returned in good condition. Barrenetxea, Óskarsson, Kubo and Turrientes are fresh after not playing in the last outing.
Matarazzo wants to manage workloads with the Europa League starting next week, when matches will come twice a week and training time will be limited. The team will train on Friday and Saturday. He will speak to the media on Friday, with the squad announcement expected on Saturday.
