Real Sociedad confirm captaincy group for 2026-27 as Beñat Turrientes joins | OneFootball

Real Sociedad have confirmed their four captains for the 2026-27 season a few hours before their 21:00 trip to Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The quartet is Mikel Oyarzabal, Igor Zubeldia, Ander Barrenetxea and Beñat Turrientes, with Turrientes the new addition. According to AS, the 24-year-old midfielder from Beasain joins the group following Aritz Elustondo’s departure.

Turrientes endured a difficult first half of last season and even considered a loan, but from January he stepped up and became a key option for Pellegrino Matarazzo alongside Jon Gorrotxategi.

Oyarzabal is first captain, Zubeldia second, Barrenetxea third and Turrientes fourth.

Oyarzabal joined the club in 2011, Zubeldia in 2009, Barrenetxea in 2013 and Turrientes in 2014.
