Real Madrid have lit up the transfer window under Mourinho, while offsetting spending by selling academy prospects for almost €175 million. According to Diario Vasco, the strategy has helped fund a flurry of high-profile arrivals.

Mourinho’s side have added Yan Diomandé for €125 million plus €15 million and further recruits including Cucurella, Carlos Espí and Dumfries, with Bernardo Silva and Konaté arriving on frees. Youth sales have brought in almost €175 million, led by €60 million for Nico Paz and €40 million for Gonzalo, plus income from other exits.

At Real Sociedad, Zubieta’s priority is supplying the first team, yet Sanse’s 2021 step up to Segunda under Xabi Alonso boosted visibility and valuations. That has brought regular exits for fees and sell-ons.

In 2022 Julen Lobete joined Celta for €1 million for 50% of his rights, with up to €500,000 in add-ons, and Nais Djouahra left for Rijeka for €750,000 with a buy-back and 25% sell-on. Álex Sola later moved to Getafe for €1 million.

In 2025 Jon Ander Olasagasti signed for Levante for €1 million plus €500,000 in add-ons, with 30% of any future profit kept. Urko González de Zárate joined Espanyol for €5 million, with 20% retained on any profit.

In 2026 Mikel Rodríguez left for Alavés for €2 million for 50% of his rights. He is the only one of the six without an official debut. Across four years these exits have brought in about €10.75 million, modest beside Madrid’s haul but significant for Real Sociedad.
