Real Sociedad enter Europe without needing to sell to balance the books, in contrast to Betis, Celta and Getafe, who finished above them and face financial pressure.
According to Diario Vasco, those three must complete at least one major sale by 30 June to keep budgets in line, even as they prepare squads for European competition.
Betis, back in the Champions League after 20 years, are prioritising about €20 million in sales over signings. Possible exits include Altimira, Marc Roca, Abde and Cucho Hernández. President Ángel Haro has defended relying on player trading for extraordinary income.
Celta president Marian Mouriño said they need a sale between just over €15 million and €16 million before 30 June to balance the books. Ilaix Moriba and Williot Swedberg are leading candidates. Without a sale, it would be a fourth straight deficit.
Getafe expect exits such as Luis Milla and Mauro Arambarri to trim wages, but Crystal Palace will not trigger an option worth about €18 million for Christantus Uche. That shortfall curbs recruitment, and José Bordalás’s future remains uncertain after criticising resources despite reaching the Conference League.
Real, by contrast, do not need significant income to close this year’s accounts and are not expected to repeat last summer’s €70 million sale of Zubimendi to Arsenal. Any departures would be sporting, with strict wage-cap control under LaLiga oversight. European revenues return after a year without them, and the club intend to invest carefully.
