La Liga outfit Real Sociedad have early this week announced a heavy blow to the club’s personnel ranks.
This comes amid confirmation that defender Hamari Traoré is set for a long-term spell on the sidelines.
Right-back Traoré, for his part, was afforded a starting berth on Sunday, as Sociedad made the trip to the Estadio Coliseum, for a La Liga meeting with Getafe.
En route to an eventual goalless stalemate, however, the Mali international was hooked from the action owing to injury midway through the 2nd-half.
And, as alluded to above, 24 hours on, the worst has been confirmed…
As per a statement across La Real’s website and social media platforms, Traoré has suffered a torn ACL, likely bringing the 32-year-old’s season to an end just as it had started:
‘Hamari Traoré suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear yesterday. He will undergo surgery in the coming days.’
Best of luck in your recovery, Hamari!
