Real Sociedad to end pre-season with Cologne double-header in Germany | OneFootball

According to Diario Vasco, Real Sociedad have confirmed their final two pre-season friendlies, a double-header against Cologne in Germany on seven and eight August, mirroring last year’s twin dates with Bournemouth, and finishing up before La Liga begins on the weekend of 15-16 August.

The first game is on Friday seven August at 18:00, behind closed doors at the Franz-Kremer-Stadion, the FC Köln training ground. The second is on Saturday eight August at 15:30 at the RheinEnergieStadion, which holds 50,000.

Real and Athletic will not contest the Euskal Herriko Txapela final in summer as in recent editions. They are due to meet as last season’s top Basque sides, but not in pre-season, with the fixture likely to fall in the long international break across September and October. There will be no league on the last weekend of September or the first of October.

In total, La Real have six friendlies set. Pre-season begins on Sunday five July with an open training session, followed by a closed training game against Pau FC on Saturday eleven July. The first summer friendly is on Saturday 18 July against newly promoted Racing in Zubieta.

The England camp features games against Wolves on Friday 25 July and against Aston Villa on Tuesday 28 July. Real then face Toulouse on Friday 31 July in Tarbes, before concluding with the Cologne double-header on seven and eight August.
