Real Sociedad head to the Santiago Bernabéu on Wednesday to face Real Madrid, with youth called up to bolster a depleted squad.

As reported by AS, injuries to Odriozola, Marín and Gorrotxategi, plus technical decisions on Karrikaburu and Goti, have seen Pellegrino Matarazzo turn again to Zubieta. Winger Job Ochieng, 23, has been registered with the first team and handed shirt number 12.

The travelling academy group features Aitor Fraga, 23, Luken Beitia, 22, Álex Lebarbier, 22, Ibai Aguirre, 19, Álex Marchal, 18, and Gorka Carrera, 21, alongside Ochieng. Their average age is 21.

All of them, except goalkeeper Aitor Fraga and Ibai Aguirre, were named for last Friday’s game against Betis at La Cartuja. Only Marchal featured, coming on in the 58th minute.

With the exception of Aitor Fraga and Álex Lebarbier, the rest have already debuted for the first team.

Beitia and Carrera made their first senior minutes in the league and Copa del Rey under Sergio Francisco. Ochieng, Aguirre and Marchal stepped up with Matarazzo.

For most it will be a first Bernabéu experience, although Ochieng and Aguirre were on last season’s bench there without playing. Matarazzo trusts their response to the demands of facing Real Madrid.
