Anderlecht travel to the Basque country on Thursday evening hoping to build on their opening day win in the Europa League. The Belgian’s beat Ferencvaros 2-1 at home and now face a tricky trip to face the La Liga side. Their opponents began their Europa League campaign with a 1-1 draw away to Nice.

Anderlecht will be without a number of players again this week, with Francis Amuzu having joined the long injury list during the recent Europa League clash. To add further woes, new signing Leander Dendoncker is now ill and will miss the game. The side remain reliant on Mario Stroeykens for attacking threat. The midfielder recently turned 20 and has continued his form from last season into this. So far he leads the side in terms of goals with two and assists with four. No one else has scored more than one goal for the club this season. Anderlecht come into this clash following a 1-1 draw with recently promoted Dender in the Pro League.

Their opponents have not had the greatest start to their campaign either. They sit 14th in the league but did manage to pick up their second league win at the weekend. Two goals from 20year-old Icelandic striker Orri Oskarsson off the bench saw them overcome Valencia 3-0 at home. In a similar vein to their opponents, only Oskarsson and Takefusa Kubo have scored more than once this season.
