In recent days, reports have emerged that one of the names on Barcelona’s radar for the 2026 summer window is Real Sociedad’s Alex Remiro.

The experienced goalkeeper has now spoken publicly about the ongoing speculation, making it clear that he is fully aware of the interest around him.

Barcelona are looking at options to reshape their goalkeeping department in the coming years, and Remiro is one of the players Deco and the sporting staff have been keeping close tabs on.

Several meetings have already taken place between the club and Remiro’s representatives, as they explore a potential move.

In a recent interview with Diario Vasco (h/t SPORT), Remiro admitted, “I know that Barça and Aston Villa have followed me, but they are not the only ones.

It is not hard to follow a player when Real Sociedad have played five years in a row in Europe.

“We have also had strong performances in the Champions League, especially against Barcelona.”

The 30-year-old also pointed out how his career has steadily progressed, earning him a spot in the Spanish national team.

“It’s not just about two teams. Many clubs follow everything that happens. I’ve had good years, and I think the way I play fits what teams want from a goalkeeper today,” he said.

Still, Remiro is not rushing into a decision. After a season that fell short of expectations for Real Sociedad, he wants time to switch off and reflect.

“I need a break to disconnect and think. I will see what happens next season and understand what both the club and I want.

“I have yet to speak properly with Sergio [presumably the coach], but we will see. My idea remains the same, but nothing is certain,” he noted.
