The rumours of Real Madrid’s interest in Michael Olise continue to gather pace. While the Whites are reportedly prepared to dig deep into their pockets, FC Bayern are pursuing a clear strategy. According to the Spanish media, a transfer that dates back more than a decade is even playing a role
Michael Olise has long been one of the most sought-after attacking players in Europe. Following his outstanding season at FC Bayern, numerous top clubs have been interested in the Frenchman. Real Madrid currently appear to be taking a particularly close look at the 24-year-old
According to consistent media reports, Olise is one of President Florentino Pérez’s absolute dream players and the re-elected Real boss is said to be prepared to invest huge sums to lure the attacking star to Madrid
However, Säbener Strasse is unimpressed by the speculation
As the Spanish newspaper Marca reports, the Bayern management are recalling a personnel matter that is said to have had a lasting impact on the club: Toni Kroos‘ move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2014

At the time, the Munich club let the midfielder move to Spain for a transfer fee of around 25 million euros one year before the end of his contract
In retrospect, the transfer turned out to be one of the biggest coupes in Real’s recent history in the eyes of many observers. Kroos played a total of 465 competitive matches for the Whites and won the Champions League five times
According to Marca, this move has never been completely forgotten in Munich, who want to avoid losing another world-class player to the Madrilenians who will go on to shape an era for years to come
Although it cannot be confirmed whether this assessment actually plays a role in the current deliberations, one thing is certain: FC Bayern is currently unwilling to consider selling Olise
President Herbert Hainer once again made the record champions‘ stance unmistakably clear at the weekend: „Michael Olise is an FC Bayern Munich player who still has a long contract – and we are not a seller’s club. If Florentino Pérez wants to send us an offer – which is not the case so far – he can save himself the trouble,“ Hainer told BILD
Even the rumored transfer fee of 150 million euros doesn’t seem to change that
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently explained why Olise is so highly regarded internally at Real Madrid. „Florentino is convinced that Olise could be really, really important for the system that José Mourinho wants to play at Real Madrid. And he believes that additional quality in the attack can help develop Mbappé and Vinicius Jr. His feeling is that Real would have the best attack in the world,“ Romano emphasized
Nevertheless, the starting position is clearly in Bayern’s favour. Olise has a contract in Munich until 2029 and does not have an exit clause, meaning that the German record champions have full control over his sporting future
In addition, Munich have long regarded the Frenchman as one of the central building blocks for the coming years. Following his outstanding development, Olise is set to play a key role in Vincent Kompany’s future plans
The message from Munich is therefore clear: Real Madrid can dream of Michael Olise, but nobody at Säbener Straße is thinking of letting the attacking star go.
