La Liga 2 outfit Real Zaragoza have this week taken drastic measures, in a bid to fight back against Spanish football’s leading clubs.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing Heraldo de Aragón, who have on Friday provided an insight into the situation.
Zaragoza, it is understood, have issued bans to all of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Real Betis, which will serve to prevent scouts from any of the three La Liga clubs attending the club’s Sports City moving forward.
Why? To protect the club’s up-and-coming young talent.
Barcelona, for one, recently snatched up two of the standout emerging youngsters on the books at Zaragoza in one fell swoop, bringing both Gorka Buil and Samu Borniquel to La Masia.
With Real Betis having since followed suit in luring another potential star in the making away from Aragon, the brass at La Romareda have in turn put their foot down once and for all.
As per the aforementioned MD:
‘Real Zaragoza has decided not to allow scouts from Real Madrid and FC Barcelona into its Sports City in response to the flight of youth players that the Aragonese club has suffered in recent times.’
The sanction, it is understood, will be in effect for ‘all the matches of the Real Zaragoza youth teams’.
