HLN are reporting that Thorsten Fink will not be taking over at Anderlecht. After conversations between the club and the former Genk man, Anderlecht have decided to look elsewhere. As a result, the club have decided to consider former AZ head coach Maarten Martens. AZ sacked Martens after a poor run of form with the club just a few weeks ago.

Martens certainly has experience of Anderlecht. He was part of the youth academy as a player but never broke into the first team. After just one senior appearance for Anderlecht he moved to RKC Waalwijk and eventually AZ, where he spent seven seasons as a player. As a head coach with AZ, Martens was in charge for just two seasons, having worked as an assistant and with Jong AZ. He won 54 games, drew 22 and lost 27. He averaged 1.8 points per game and won 52% of the games he managed.
