A record-breaking teenage sensation might be close to coming to an agreement with Liverpool.

The club's academy has produced an abundance of talented players over the years. Most of these players at one point in their careers were the darlings of the Kop.

What Liverpool have also done well is sign the biggest talents in the country at an early age.

Rio Ngumoha is an example of that. Raheem Sterling is another. Trey Nyoni could also be added to that list alongside Harvey Elliott.

Yet there's also something special when somebody who came through the entire system breaks onto the scene.

From Robbie Fowler to Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard and more recent Trent Alexander-Arnold.

And now there's another, who faces an uncertain future but who may have hinted he is going to come to an agreement with the club.

In 2014, when Trent Alexander-Arnold made an appearance against Real Madrid in the UEFA Youth League at just 16 years and 28 days old, it was an unprecedented feat.

Few would have envisaged the record being broken given Alexander-Arnold was so young, he was still only in Year 11 in school.

The club's former no.66 held the record for almost ten years until Ngumoha broke it last season making an appearance for Liverpool in the competition at 16 years and 19 days old.

Unlike Trent Alexander-Arnold though, Ngumoha's record did not hold out for as long.

Liverpool already have another special talent coming through in Joshua Abe, who broke the record again on Tuesday night when he was introduced as a substitute in the knock-out round game against MSK Zilina.

Abe was just 15 years, six months and 17 days old setting an incredible record and beating Ngumoha by a total of six months and two days.

Liverpool believe he is the biggest talent in the country and one of the biggest talents to have come through the academy.

However, right now they face stiff competition for his services.

Abe's contract at the academy expires at the end of the season and he's still yet to come to new terms with the club on a scholarship deal.

Negotiations are ongoing and Liverpool are doing everything to entice Abe. They have even invited the player to first-team training, making it clear that there is a pathway for him.

Abe has been at the club since pre-academy level. He has come through the ranks and grown up around Liverpool.

He has 11 goal contributions in 11 games for Liverpool's U18 and U19 side, and five goal contributions in six games for England's U16 national team.

Now Abe has left a hint about where his future could lie. He was spotted liking an Instagram post by Rising Ballers that talked about the how the future of Liverpool's wing could be 'scary.'

The post mentions Abe alongside Yan Diomande, Mateus Mane and Rio Ngumoha and says that the future already looks 'very bright.'

Now would a player on his way out be liking such positive posts about Liverpool's future, that also involves him? Surely not.

It's Abe's biggest hint yet that an agreement between him and the club is close.
