Supporters’ group Red and White Army has issued a positive update after meeting interim chief executive Tom Burwell, noting progress on ticketing issues and setting out next steps.
In an email to members, the group said talks were constructive, the club acknowledged concerns over cancelled away tickets and season-ticket renewals, and individual cases are being addressed.
Outcomes have been secured for most affected fans, with process improvements under way. The meeting was convened after frustration among supporters trying to renew seats in other parts of the ground.
The discussions also covered recent staffing changes, which were described as strategic rather than reactive, aimed at operating successfully in the Premier League compared with the Championship.
For away travel, Sunderland plan to deploy club stewards on busy LNER trains after a positive trial around the Bournemouth match, when behaviour seemed to improve.
Following the end of the 2025/2026 campaign, the group plans to liaise soon with the FSA on European matters. Representatives Paul Nelson and Jane Hughes attended the Premier League Fan Advisory Board meeting at Villa Park.
