Régis Le Bris’ future at Sunderland has returned to the spotlight, with talkSPORT reporting his position could be reviewed if the club miss European qualification.
The report frames a summer of likely managerial change across the Premier League and says Le Bris is one to watch, particularly if Sunderland fall short. It adds that a change in the dugout could not be discounted should they miss a top-six finish.
Sunderland are 11th, four points off the European places, outperforming expectations in their first season back in the top flight.
It is also suggested the ownership group, led by Kyril Louis-Dreyfus and Juan Sartori, have not ruled out assessing alternatives. Le Bris signed a long-term deal last season, led promotion from the Championship, and has kept Sunderland in the European conversation deep into the campaign.
There has been no suggestion internally that his job is at risk, with the club continuing to build under his leadership. The Black Cats face Nottingham Forest in the league on Friday evening.
