Régis Le Bris says no final decision has been taken on Simon Adingra’s Sunderland future, with the winger back in the US after Ivory Coast duty and impressing against Leeds United earlier this week.

Interest in the 24-year-old has built over the summer, with AS Roma, RB Leipzig, Ipswich Town, Hull City and West Ham United all linked, according to Footmercato.

Le Bris acknowledged a departure remains possible before the window closes, but believes Adingra benefited from his loan at AS Monaco in the second half of last season. He views this pre-season as a chance for the player to show he is ready after a difficult first year, stressing that last season is now parked.

Adingra filled in on the right against Leeds due to Jocelin Ta Bi’s absence and looks set for another opportunity from the bench against Wrexham on Sunday.

Competition on the left, his preferred side, is strong and will intensify when Chemsdine Talbi returns from his post World Cup break next week, so a move this month cannot be ruled out.
