Sunderland are preparing for bids after a standout Premier League return, but Régis Le Bris believes the core will remain intact and Kyril Louis-Dreyfus is not planning wholesale sales. The head coach cautioned that nothing is guaranteed in a volatile market.

Brian Brobbey has been linked with a summer move, with The Independent reporting that Bayern Munich are monitoring him.

Le Bris said interest would reflect this season’s work, but he does not want to change a whole team. He said Louis-Dreyfus remains ambitious and does not intend to sell 50 per cent of the squad, while the club will respect the market and decide at the right time.

European qualification could offer opportunity and create a headache, since extra fixtures would require a deeper group. UEFA rules also cap squad costs at 70% of revenue.

Le Bris said they are not actively planning for Europe yet, but a strengthened structure should let Sunderland act quickly once the campaign ends. Director of football Florent Ghisolfi has revamped scouting and recruitment in recent months.

Ghisolfi said earlier this month they would try to improve the team, though outcomes are uncertain, and stability matters most. He added that Premier League revenues mean they do not need to sell, though occasional sales fit player cycles and help attract young talent without pressure.
