Regis Le Bris is widely popular on Wearside, yet his win rate sits mid-table against Sunderland’s Premier League rivals.

According to Sunderland Echo, the Black Cats won last season’s Championship play-offs to return to the Premier League for the first time since 2017 after sinking as low as eighth in League One. They are 11th and 13 points clear despite a 3-1 defeat at West Ham at the weekend.

Hired from Lorient in summer 2024, Le Bris accelerated Sunderland’s rise. His win rate stands at 40.79 per cent, 31 wins from 76, ranking 15th, below Oliver Glasner and above David Moyes.

Context matters. Sunderland have prioritised solidity, with only the top four losing fewer league games so far, six. Tight matches have produced nine draws and eight wins, and without those draws they would be 17th and far closer to danger, yet stalemates do not lift his percentage.

In the Championship his win rate rises to 45.65 per cent, which would place him 11th on this list, ahead of Marco Silva and Fabian Hurzeler. He has also recently registered his first cup victory as Sunderland manager against Everton in the FA Cup third round, though it is recorded as a draw after a penalty shootout.
