Energy Moment of the Matchday 27: Reid Roberts

Reid Roberts put a stunning exclamation point on a wild Walmart Saturday Showdown.

The San Jose Earthquakes defender blasted home a long-range, last-gasp equalizer to salvage a 2-2 draw against 10-man LAFC at Levi's Stadium.

Roberts' 98th-minute leveler earned the center back Energy Moment of the Matchday presented by Celsius honors for Matchday 27.

Down two goals after LAFC's superstar duo of Son Heung-Min and Denis Bouanga struck on either side of halftime, San Jose rallied to secure an epic finish. 

Preston Judd cut into the Black & Gold's lead in the 70th minute, giving the Quakes a momentum swing that Roberts capped off with a point-saving golazo. 

The dramatic draw extended San Jose's unbeaten streak to five games (2W-0L-3D), keeping them just outside of the Western Conference top four as the Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs chase heats up.

Roberts and the Quakes return to their customary home at PayPal Park on Saturday to host the Portland Timbers (10:30 pm ET | Apple TV).
