Tijjani Reijnders was the match-winner for AC Milan against Como, but his focus after the game was on the need for the team to improve.

Milan continued their trend of playing a sluggish first half that ultimately saw them trailing at the break. Luca Da Cunha was the one who opened the scoring for the visiting side with a nice shot from the edge of the box, beating the diving Mike Maignan.

Just like in the reverse game against Como, the Rossoneri came back in the second half. It was Christian Pulisic that levelled things in the 53rd minute with an impressive shot from a narrow angle after Tijjani Reijnders’ assist.

Then, Reijnders got the winner inside the final 20 minutes and this time it was Tammy Abraham who was the provider, sending the Dutchman through with an excellent pass that was finished well.

Reijnders spoke to DAZN after the full-time whistle to give his thoughts on an entertaining game at San Siro and one that Milan ended up the winner of, with MilanNews transcribing his comments.

Goal number 13 this season for you…

“I always try my best to be important with goals and assists, we have to get better. We did a good job today and can now go again after the break for international duty.”

Why do Milan always need a wake-up call before kicking into gear?

“This is something we are suffering this season. I don’t think it’s sharpness, but we are making personal mistakes and these things can’t happen when you are playing for Milan.

“It is also hard when the fans come in later, but we need their support, you can see when they come in, it brings us a lot of energy in the stadium and that gives us energy too. I said multiple times this season, we have to improve, and right now is the best moment to do it.”
