Tijjani Reijnders and Steven Bergwijn lit up the Roshn Saudi League on Monday. Reijnders struck on his Al Qadsiah debut in a 2-0 win, before Bergwijn’s hat-trick clinched Al Ittihad’s 3-2 success over Al Hazem.

According to spl.com.sa, Al Qadsiah travelled to Tabuk to face NEOM Sports Club. They were seeking a response to their Matchweek 2 loss at Al Ittihad. On full debut, Reijnders drove forward from distance and beat the keeper at the near post. He collected Man of the Match as the visitors saw it out 2-0.

Reijnders said it was a good win and that they largely controlled the game, with early sloppiness fixed after the break. He added the heat is an adjustment for him, though the team handled it well.

He described the switch from Manchester City as a family decision after speaking with his father and wife. Reijnders said he has enjoyed it from his first game and feels welcomed by team-mates and staff in Al Khobar.

Later in Jeddah, Al Ittihad fell behind, turned it round to lead 2-1, were pegged back, then Bergwijn settled it late from the spot. The winger scored two penalties in his treble, moving to five goals in five appearances to start 2026-27.

Bergwijn called it a tough match, noting the effects of the previous outing at Al Qadsiah, but stressed the importance of the points. He said the side kept believing after 2-2 and need to keep improving game by game, hoping for a big season.
