Real Madrid secured an important 1-0 win over SL Benfica on Tuesday night in the UEFA Champions League, although the headlines have been completely dominated by the incident where Vinicius Jr. was allegedly racially abused by Gianluca Prestianni.

While UEFA investigates that matter, Real Madrid must turn their focus to their next challenge ahead as they take on CA Osasuna in La Liga on Saturday.

Following last night’s victory, there was slight concern about the fitness of one of Real Madrid’s key players – Aurelien Tchouameni.

Indeed, as reported earlier today, the French international ended the game at Estadio da Luz with a knock and was scheduled to undergo tests to assess the same.

Positive results for Tchouameni and Real Madrid

Providing an update, journalist Ruben Martin of AS reports that Tchouameni did undergo medical tests this morning and the results are nothing to worry about.

The French international is not dealing with any serious issue and only has some minor discomforts.

It will come as a relief for Real Madrid, who will be eager to maintain their lead at the top of the La Liga table when they face Osasuna later this week. Not to forget, the all-important second leg of the UEFA Champions League playoff against Benfica next week.

If Tchouameni had been injured, his absence would have been a serious blow for Los Blancos, considering how important he is to the team.

So far this season, the 26-year-old midfielder has played in 33 of Real Madrid’s 37 matches across all competitions, impressing under both Xabi Alonso before and Alvaro Arbeloa now.
