Renato Paiva undertakes Italian placement with Fàbregas at Como 1907 | OneFootball

Renato Paiva, formerly of Benfica, has completed a short placement with Como 1907 alongside head coach Cesc Fàbregas. According to Glorioso 1904, the Portuguese manager used the trip to study methods and day-to-day dynamics in a high-level environment.

He was at the Italian club from 23 to 27 March, accompanied by assistant Miguel Santos. Fàbregas's team sit fourth in Serie A.

Paiva described the stint as enriching, praising the competitive context and the work of the Italian coaching staff. The 56-year-old also pointed to the team's strong form in the Italian top flight.

He highlighted the welcome from the technical staff, noting their openness and humility throughout the placement. He also thanked the squad and wider club for their close contact.

Out of work since leaving Fortaleza in September 2025, Paiva continues to update his knowledge. The Italian visit is another step as he prepares for a new challenge.
