Mikey Moore earned praise from Köln coach René Wagner after an eye-catching Bundesliga debut off the bench, despite a 4-1 defeat at Stuttgart.

According to BuLi News, the Tottenham Hotspur loanee lifted Köln after the interval and was central to their best attacking moments.

He came on with Köln 1-0 down, won a corner within seconds, then helped force their only goal, credited as a Ramon Hendriks own goal.

Wagner said both half-time substitutes, Moore and Ellyes Skhiri, will still be important this season, with Skhiri returning this summer from Eintracht Frankfurt. The 38-year-old felt the match might have been different had chances been taken, adding that Stuttgart needed only one chance to make it 2-0.

Moore is most likely to start next week against Werder Bremen, and the 19-year-old could line up with Said El Mala, who missed Friday through illness. El Mala scored in last week’s opening win over Hoffenheim. Moore had been heavily involved for Tottenham Hotspur before late arrivals prompted his loan.
