The Arsenal women are back in action tonight, Friday 8th November, when they’ll take on Brighton women at the Emirates stadium. Under Interim Arsenal women’s manager, Renee Slegers, our Gunners are unbeaten in three games, after 4-1 UWCL win over Valerenga, a 2-0 win over West Ham and a 1-1 draw with Manchester United. They’ll be hoping to make it four games unbeaten tonight.

The competition in the WSL is becoming tighter, and for a big result Friday, the Gunner women need to be at their best. And Slegers has hinted she could end up fielding her strongest line-up; this was clear from the injury updates.

Slegers shared positive updates on Lotte Wubben-Moy and Laura Wienroither, revealing both are making strong progress in training. She also spoke of the worry of overloading Emily Fox, revealing that the US fullback’s minutes aren’t being cut during games but are managed through tailored training sessions for her during the week.

Slegers said, in her pre-Brighton presser, “Lotte is positive; she’s training with us. Laura did big parts of the training today as well, so both are progressing really well. “Emily Fox is an important player for us, and there’s a different way of managing players. “We still have other players that can play in that position, but the way we are managing her now is not about taking away minutes in the games but in other parts of the week. “Emily is fine; she’s good; she’s motivated; she’s done really well recovering from her three games with the US and the trip back, so she’s in a good place.”

Victoria Pelova is continuing her rehabilitation from an ACL injury and Amanda Ilestedt is still on maternity leave, but no other squad absences have been reported. And it was good to see Lina Hurtig back, against Man United, after her long period of absence.

It sounds like Arsenal women could have an almost full squad to choose from tonight. It is now just down to the Arsenal technical bench to pick a winning team.

Brighton will not make it easy for our Gunners tonight, but I have a good feeling that, with the Red & White Army alongside them, we could take the 3 points tonight!

How do you think we’ll fair against Brighton Women, at Emirates, tonight Gooners?
