Rennes announce Adrien Thomasson to join from next season on deal to 2029 | OneFootball

Stade Rennais announced on Thursday the signing of Adrien Thomasson on a contract running to 2029. The club said in a statement that the midfielder will join ahead of next season.

The 32-year-old had officially left RC Lens earlier in the day. Named vice-captain this season by Pierre Sage behind Florian Sotoca, he often wore the armband and emerged as a dressing-room leader.

Thomasson made 130 appearances for Lens across three and a half seasons, scoring 15 and providing 26 assists. He previously featured for Nantes.

In Rennes he will be reunited with Franck Haise, his Lens coach from January 2023 to June 2024.

Lens, powered by Ligue 1’s top assist provider this season with 10, briefly dreamed of the title before finishing 2nd and winning their first Coupe de France on 22 May against Nice, 3-1.

During his time at Lens, Thomasson contributed to two Champions League qualifications and captained the side that lifted the Coupe de France.
