Rennes right-back and Malian international Hamari Traoré (31) is attracting interest from a handful of European clubs, including Lyon, Real Betis and Bayer Leverkusen, according to a report from L’Équipe. Turkish sides Galatasaray and Fenerbahce are also targeting the 2019 Coupe de France winner with Rennes. Traoré will be a free agent next June and talks for a contract renewal have broken down with Les Rouge et Noir. The outlet reports that it is highly likely that Rennes and Traoré will part ways this summer.
In April, Rennes handed Traoré a two-year contract extension. However, the terms of the deal reportedly did not meet the 31-year-old’s expectations. What’s more, the player’s entourage did not understand why Rennes have waited so long to enter talks with Traoré whilst the Britanny club had wrapped up new deals with other players in Lovro Majer, Martin Terrier, Désiré Doué and Benjamin Bourigeaud much earlier in the season. The outlet adds that further talks are set to take place between Rennes and their skipper.
