According to Mohamed Toubache-Ter, Stade Rennais have Kasper Dolberg (27) in their sights. That revelation comes a day after it was reported that Timo Werner (29) had drawn interest from the Breton side as well.
Toubache-Ter says that Werner had also drawn the interest of Olympique Lyonnais, though he believes that it will be impossible to make that move happen, likely because of the financial bind Les Gones are in.
Rennes are closely monitoring Dolberg at RSC Anderlecht in the Belgian Pro League, where he signed a four-year contract in 2023 after leaving OGC Nice. He was the 2019-20 Player of the Year for the French side. A former Eredivisie champion with Ajax, Dolberg has made 55 senior appearances for Denmark, scoring 12 times.
Werner, meanwhile, is back at RB Leipzig after spending two seasons on loan in the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur. The German international made a combined 31 appearances for the London club, domestically, scoring just two goals.
His four-year contract at Leipzig expires in June 2026. Dolberg’s current deal with Anderlecht runs out on June 30, 2027.
The man named the Danish Talent of the Year in 2016 helped Nice reach the Coupe de France final in 2021-22. He made 74 combined appearances for them in the French top-flight, scoring a total of 23 goals before being loaned to Sevilla and TSG Hoffenheim in 2022-23.
In 2016-17, he won the Johan Cruyff Trophy as the top player in Dutch football during his time in Amsterdam.
