Rennes supply three players, plus interim coach Sébastien Tambouret, to the Ligue 1 matchday 22 team of the week, L'Équipe reports. Their inclusion follows Friday's 3-1 win over PSG.
Lilian Brassier, rated eight, and Quentin Merlin, seven, fill the left centre-back and left-back slots in a back four. Mousa al-Tamari, rated eight, features as the right winger in a 4-2-3-1.
Rennes also posted the highest average this round at 6.9, while Tambouret earned nine out of 10. In goal, Brice Samba was in contention but Le Havre's Lionel Mpasi, rated eight, was preferred after replacing Mory Diaw at half-time and preserving a 2-1 win over Toulouse despite a dismissal in the second minute. Striker Issa Soumaré also makes the XI with eight after goals on 43 and 54 minutes.
Like Le Havre, Lens also place two players after their 5-0 win over Paris FC. Wesley Saïd, rated eight, is used as a free role behind Soumaré in this selection. Team-mate Saud Abdulhamid, rated seven, takes the right flank, with Lyon's Moussa Niakhaté, rated seven, completing the defence after a 2-0 victory over Nice.
The double pivot comprises Lorient's Noah Cadiou, rated seven, assured in a 2-0 win against Angers, and Denis Zakaria, rated seven, a scorer for Monaco in a 3-1 win over Nantes. Auxerre's first victory in more than two months is recognised, with Lassine Sinayoko, involved in all three goals at Metz in a 3-1 success, taking the left flank with eight.
